FIRESTARTER - John Ball and the Great Revolt

Consort of 1 and Clare Goodall present: Firestarter John Ball and the Great Revolt

Live-looped music from the 14th century provides the backdrop to the tale of the

Great Revolt and radical preacher John Ball. Born near Colchester (maybe?),

Ball preached in English (shocking!) and claimed that everyone was created

equal (scandalous!!). He was excommunicated and would have languished in jail

had he not been released by the Rebels as they took London, burnt the Savoy,

and went on to parley with the King. The future hung in the balance...

Exercises and short homeworks will give you a chance to put into practice what you learn and you’ll have an opportunity to share your work in a supportive and constructive environment.

About Andrew Reynolds

Andrew L Reynolds, M.A. is a fiction writer. His most recent work, a speculative fiction thriller set in a near-future London, was written whilst completing a novel writing MA at City University.

Writing has always been his guilty pleasure and Andrew has a life-long love of all things crime, thriller, sci-fi and fantasy. Everything from books to cinema to computer games and tabletop role-playing became lessons in storytelling.
