About Andrew Reynolds

Andrew L Reynolds, M.A. is a fiction writer. His most recent work, a speculative fiction thriller set in a near-future London, was written whilst completing a novel writing MA at City University.

Writing has always been his guilty pleasure and Andrew has a life-long love of all things crime, thriller, sci-fi and fantasy. Everything from books to cinema to computer games and tabletop role-playing became lessons in storytelling.

For much of his life Andrew has worked as a singer, lyricist, top-line songwriter and voice coach. As a lyricist he discovered a passion for poetry, working as a voice coach fulfilled his desire to help others to develop their potential and his experience as performer has helped him to become an engaging speaker and teacher.

Since completing his MA Andrew has been working with poet and life-writer, Fiona Mason to create and deliver creative writing courses and retreats with Word after Word, both in England and in Spain.

There will be no fewer than 20 wines open to taste throughout the evening, encompassing a wide range of styles and price points from many wine producing countries around the world. The wines will be open to taste at your leisure, and during the evening George will be presenting two wine masterclasses for those keen to learn a little bit more.

At 8.00pm – Exploring Italy’s Indigenous Grapes

At 8.50pm – Modern New World Classics

About George:

George opened Baythorne Wines in 2014 as part of a new development at Baythorne Hall (situated on the A1017 between Clare and Haverhill) that includes a Cookery School and Dining & Events Venue. He has well over a decade’s experience in the wine trade, which began at Lay & Wheeler’s retail store in Colchester, Wheeler Cellars, soon after he left University. He remained with the Wheeler family as they developed The Wine Company, as the head of Private Sales, until he decided to set up his own wine business. In its short two year existence Baythorne Wines has established a reputation as one of the leading regional merchants, with a range of over 300 wines from around the world. George’s particular passion is finding wines that are a little out of the ordinary, most commonly from small family run estates and which offer exceptional value for money. Some of his favourite finds will be open to taste on 2nd December.

Works by local artist Arthur Legge (1862-1921) were found in a locked chest whilst the Guildhall was being cleared in preparation for its restoration project.

Over 20 paintings and sketches of the local area were wrapped in brown paper, unseen for over 50 years.

The paintings were unearthed in the Master's Room of our historic grade 1 listed building

"We had no idea what they were; they were wrapped in brown paper with a small label on it saying 'For the Guildhall,'" said trustee Jackie Bargman.

"They're of life in Finchingfield generally. There are agricultural scenes, scenes of people who lived in the Guildhall and there are sketches of the local area."
