Looking at the British Empire in its heyday and reflecting on the social, cultural and economic affects of British dominance over a quarter of the world's population across the globe from India to Africa. Against this backdrop we will consider how Queen Victoria's life developed from 1861 when she lost her beloved Albert until her passing in 1901 when her son 'Bertie' took up the reins of monarchical influence. Course format - 30 minute presentation followed by group discussion based on reflective questions.
