Following hot on the heels of recent success in the RIBA awards, the Guildhall

won the RICS East of England Building Conservation award 2014, and will now

go forward to the national awards in the autumn.

Representatives from the Finchingfield Guildhall Trust, Kay Pilsbury Thomas

Architects and the contractor Fairhurst Ward Abbots were present to collect the

awards at a ceremony and dinner in St Albans on 8 May.

The Guildhall wins two RIBA awards

The Guildhall won two prestigious awards at RIBA East of England event.  One  was for Regional architecture and the other was for a conservation project.  These are important landmarks and are a testament to all involved.  These awards now go to the national judging panel and a shortlist for that will follow, probably in early June.

Friends of the Guildhall

The Guildhall is entering an exciting new phase.  Our website has launched, a brochure is in production, and our tours and venue hire are increasing.  We have won two RIBA awards which will only increase interest in the Guildhall as a destination, and hopefully this will benefit the business community of our village as a whole.   We recognise that we need to carry on fundraising throughout the year, and with your help, skill and imagination we hope to have fun raising money to support this wonderful community asset.

If you would like to become a Friend of the Guildhall and can help in anyway please contact us.

Many thanks from the Guildhall project team
